It appears that adidas is taking action against the International Association of Athletics Federations (or IAAF) by terminating its sponsorship deal nearly four years early. The German sportswear brand notified the governing body of its intentions early last week. The move will cost the IAAF over $30M USD over the next four years. It is widely understood that the German brand notified the Association led by Lord Coe (pictured) that it intended to abandon the contract last November amid allegations of extensive "state-sponsored doping programs" in Russia that were covered up during the 2012 Olympic games in London, in particular. We will bring details of these events as they unfold.
