Umm, When Did The adidas Yeezy 350 Boost Come In Every Color?

This adidas Ultra Boost Is Made Out Of Recycled Ocean Materials. Say What?!

adidas adidas adidas adidas adidas adidas

Expect the adidas Ultra Boost to go through some major changes in the near future. Recently, adidas unveiled a new adidas Ultra Boost silhouette with an upper made out of something you usually don’t see on sneakers.

Coming together with Parley for the Oceans, the upper of the new adidas Ultra Boost is made entirely of yarns and filaments that were recycled from ocean waste as well as illegal deep sea gillnets. Parley’s partner ship, the Sea Shepherd, was able to retrieve the nets used after a 110-day expedition tracking an illegal poaching vessel, which happened to culminate off the coast of West Africa. The idea behind the shoe is to help raise awareness in an effort to help conserve and preserve our oceans. Although this may not be the final draft of the shoe, it gives you a good idea at what kind of look they’re going for. Expect this to drop sometime next year.

Kanye West To Buy His Yeezys on eBay?

Kanye Actually Had to Buy Yeezys on eBay

So apparently Kanye West can’t get Yeezys whenever he wants?

In a recent interview with Rolling Out, rapper Young Thug talks about how he has developed a close relationship with Kanye. He also said that Kanye wanted to do an album with him. Really?? That’s besides the point. The most interesting part of the interview was when Young Thug said

“Kanye is like my brother, but he’s a real fan. He bought me some Yeezys and went on eBay to get them for me. That’s motivation.”

Kanye buying Yeezys on eBay? What’s that all about?

The interview doesn’t mention specifically whether Kanye bought Nike Yeezys or adidas Yeezys, but we doubt he’d still be endorsing Nike. I guess it’s tough in the streets getting a pair of Yeezys these days.

adidas Originals' highly sought-after Primeknit-constructed Stan Smith returns, albeit with a bolder makeup than that of the previous lightweight takes on the classic tennis silhouette. Retaining the OG's solid white rubber sole unit and green heel, this version of the shoe opts for a predominately black upper while bright orange contrasts stand out throughout the knit. Retailing for $120 USD, the black/green/orange version of the Stan Smith Primeknit is available now via New Jersey's Packer Shoes.

Projected 2016 Top-5 Pick Refuses to Play in FIBA U19 World Championships Because of Sneaker Deal

Croatia’s Dragan Bender is one of the best young prospects in the world right now—he’s currently projected to be the No. 5 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by Draft Express. But he won’t be playing in the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championships this summer.

Why? Sneaker politics.

See, Bender as a deal with adidas, but his national team rocks Jordan Brand. When the team informed Bender he wouldn’t be able to wear his adidas sneakers on the court—that he’d have to wear Jordans—he decided to leave the team and the tournament altogether, rather than switch up his kicks. Talk about brand loyalty.

From FIBA.com:

Croatian star forward Dragan Bender will not play at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship as he will leave the team over a contract dispute.

Vladimr Vanjak, Croatia’s head of delegation at the tournament in Heraklion (Crete), Greece, confirmed to FIBA.com that Bender will be leaving Greece on Sunday.

He said: “The fact is that Bender denied [refused] to play in the Jordan Brand shoes but our Federation has a contract with Jordan and everybody has to play in Jordan Brand. He denied to do that but he didn’t say anything before coming here. That’s the problem. I talked with my Secretary General and other people who made the decision because we have a very serious contract with Jordan. If he cannot play in Jordan Brand, he cannot play. That’s it.”

Bender, who was expected to be one of the biggest stars at the tournament, has a contract with adidas and the Croatian national team is signed to a long-term deal with Jordan Brand.

With rosters finalised, Croatia will play out the 2015 U19 Worlds with 11 players.

A Good Look At The adidas Y-3 Qasa High “Independence Day” Pack

The adidas Y-3 Qasa High “Independence Day” pack is set to drop July 1st, today we will take a closer look at two of the pairs that make up that said pack.

The pairs seen above are made up of plush neoprene. The pairs also have a strap made out of thick canvas, a set of interweaving laces and of course, the Y-3 branding spotted on the heel. All of this will be sitting on top of a cushioned modsole. The first pair opts to take the tonal route and comes in an all-royal blue upper, with only a small hit of white spotted on the striped accent on the minimal Yohji Yamamoto branding of the midsole. The second pair comes in red, white and black.  Black hits are seen on the heel counter a well as in the laces. Red takes care of most of the upper, including the canvas strap, while the white midsole assists in offsetting the entire look of the shoe. Available now at select retailers, which pair of the adidas Y-3 Qasa Highs are you looking to pick up?

Author’s Take

Both pairs look pretty clean, I have to admit. If I was forced to pick one though, I would go with the red/black version. It just seems to have more pop, and I already have a lot of blue kicks.

adidas Originals x White Mountaineering 2016 Spring/Summer Video

adidas continues to ramp up collaboration efforts on all fronts, having announced a forthcoming collaboration with wings + horns earlier today and here presenting a video preview of its third season with elite Japanese label White Mountaineering. The collection, executed in a color palette of blue and white, is an expression of Yosuke Aizawa's vision for sportswear – using technical materials to flip everyday silhouettes into sartorially-apt designs. It is chiefly comprised of jackets, shirts, and shorts, with some layering pieces barely recognizable as such (in the best way possible). Alongside the apparel, adidas Originals also gives viewers a look at the footwear selection, which features rarely-seen silhouettes such as the BW Army, Supergrip, ZX500 Hi and Formel 1 alongside the Energy Boost. Get a feel for the collection with the video above as we await the collection release in early 2016.

The ongoing collaboration between Belgian fashion designer, Raf Simons, and adidas continues for Spring/Summer 2016, as we’re able to provide you with an overview of the forthcoming footwear range.

Recently unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, the Raf Simons x adidas Spring/Summer 2016 collection includes three staple designs with the reinterpreted Stan Smith, Ozweego 2 and Response Trail, but also introduces the new Raf Simons x adidas Stan Smith Strap.

The classic Raf Simons Stan Smith combines elegant leathers with the iconic “R” perforrated quarter, which comes in options of White, Light Copper, Silver, Blush Yellow, Ash Pink and Night Marine. For the Stan Smith Aged, the sneaker’s leather composition is given a vintage treatment, in an all-over Black and White hue.

In addition, the Raf Simons Ozweego 2 is offered in tones of Khaki, Deep Green, as well as Black, Blue and Brown tones. Furthermore, the Raf Simons Response Trail 2 receives White/Green or Red/Blue combinations with two TPU heel spoilers for different looks.

Finally, the new Raf Simons x adidas Stan Smith Strap is introduced. Raf Simons requested a buckle strap version of the Stan Smith bringing a new twist of refinement to the original comfort Velcro straps from the 1980’s. Elegant leathers are combined with Raf Simons branding and offered in nostalgic colorways overall.

With prices ranging from $455 – $730, the Raf Simons x adidas Spring/Summer 2016 footwear collection will debut at select Raf Simons stockists globally by mid-February 2016.

adidas by Raf Simons 2016 Spring/Summer Collection

Raf Simons' longstanding relationship with adidas continues, returning to our pages with a selection of instant classics for 2016. It seems that Simons hasn't quite fallen out of love with the Stan Smith silhouette, managing to reiterate the silhouette in a bevy of creative ways. Aside from traditional colorways such as classic white, the traditionally un-branded Stan Smith has been reworked with sidestripe-style straps in a brand new silhouette, marking a modern evolution from the velcro straps of the 1980s. Leather is also addressed on the Stan Smith, with Simons using various aging techniques on premium cuts to offer a dark, gothic look.

Elsewhere, the Ozweego 2, which has quirkily found a new home in a kind of post-runway street circle, makes futuristic assertions on trail silhouettes and is offered in perhaps its most wearable colorway options to date. The collection is rounded out by the Response Trail 2, which has been updated in two colorways and detailed with TPU heel counters. Look for the adidas by Raf Simons collection to hit retailers in February, and head here in the meantime to explore the current range.
