This adidas Ultra Boost Is Made Out Of Recycled Ocean Materials. Say What?!

Expect the adidas Ultra Boost to go through some major changes in the near future. Recently, adidas unveiled a new adidas Ultra Boost silhouette with an upper made out of something you usually don’t see on sneakers.

Coming together with Parley for the Oceans, the upper of the new adidas Ultra Boost is made entirely of yarns and filaments that were recycled from ocean waste as well as illegal deep sea gillnets. Parley’s partner ship, the Sea Shepherd, was able to retrieve the nets used after a 110-day expedition tracking an illegal poaching vessel, which happened to culminate off the coast of West Africa. The idea behind the shoe is to help raise awareness in an effort to help conserve and preserve our oceans. Although this may not be the final draft of the shoe, it gives you a good idea at what kind of look they’re going for. Expect this to drop sometime next year.
