adidas Originals SL Loop Racer "Chromatech"

Following the Xeno, adidas Originals reveals an all-new color-shifting technology dubbed "Chromatech." adidas tell us "As the Chromatech material expands and contracts the color responds and changes. The natural color shift creates a color spectrum unique to how each shoe is worn, so that no two pairs are alike." Chromatech makes its first appearance on the SL Loop Racer, a model that features a webbing of 3-Stripes that form eyelets for a signature loop lacing system. The above three-part pack will be available May 8 at adidas Originals retail stores and adidas.com/originals for $95 USD.

The adidas Originals Stan Smith Meets A Textile Upper

It’s always playing with fire. The adidas Originals Stan Smith hasn’t been afraid to test things out, and now they’ve gone from python prints to textile uppers. They’ve played with colors schemes and they’ve played with the construction but this textile upper my be my favorite by far.

It’s almost as if adidas just threw these into the mix to compete with Primeknit and Flyknit designs by Nike, but so what if they did. They’ve definitely succeeded, unlike some other competitors. The adidas Originals Stan Smith is offered to us in two different designs, each constructed in flexible material, while suede reinforces the tongue and toe. You can choose the Crushed Blue look with an Orange inner lining and Black laces, or you can go steal mode and choose the all Black design. Regardless, you can get them now at select adidas retailers.

I’ve been messing with the Stan Smith model for a minute. This doesn’t change a thing.

The Crushed Blue version is definitely beckoning to me, so the cop is a must. And of all the Stan Smith designs, these might be some of the dopest.

Adidas Originals Rod Laver “Python” Pack – Slither On My Friends

Where has the adidas Rod Laver been? Not on shelves, we know that much for sure. Now, trying to revamp the model, we see the sneaker under the sophisticated detailing of python print. Looking like it has a little more to offer, the Adidas Originals Rod Laver lands with two different colorways.

Neither look makes a reference to the brand with the three stripes. Instead, the non-branded adidas Originals Rod Laver favors a python leather upper in either a White or Black base. Cream laces accompany the White iteration and a cream outsole follows along with the Black rendition. If you’re interested in picking these up, then be sure to check back with us soon for updated stateside information.

I understand not wanting to load us up on too many tennis related kicks, but we need more like this.

Coming from Negative Nancy herself who always rags on monochromatic look… These are dope, down to the last python scale.

There’s almost no way to do a city themed releases and not include New York–it’s nonsense thinking. However, The Big Apple was left in the dumps when it came to the return of the Nike Air Huarache. With that behind us, adidas made sure to include the big city. The adidas Originals Superstar “City” Pack has offered us up quite the collection, and now we’ve got four new looks to incorporate.

In the gallery above, we get to lay our eyes on the adidas Originals Superstar in monochromatic styles and suede construction. With a range of colors, including Red, Blue, Black and Grey, we get to appreciate cities that are more than just a ways away. London, Berlin, Paris and New York are all shown here, each with a metallic gold heel adornment that signifies their city (i.e., Empire State building, Eiffel Tower). Check back with us in the coming days to check up on any other cities being added to this adidas release. Rumor has it, Tokyo is in the mix and in Purple.

Where’s Los Angeles? Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, NEW YORK…but why cant the West Coast get some love too?

I couldn’t rock NY because I’m an LA girl. So it puts me in a predicament to have to choose outside the USA, and in that case I’m rolling with the Tokyo version.

Don’t be so intimidated by these. They aren’t your average Stan Smiths, but with Summer on the horizon they could definitely be your best friend. We’ve been getting some interesting silhouettes to help with the heat of Summer. Nike is leading the pack, bringing a variety of breathable kicks including the Flyknit, Air Rift and Sock Dart. But now, we are getting a peak at the adidas Originals Stan Smith Decon.

Although different than your average Smith, these are still better than the Nike Air Rift, so there’s that. This version of the adidas Originals Stan Smith favors a cream based upper in monochromatic style, while the side panels and heel counterparts offer the noted ventilation additions. A fancy tongue patch in leather completes the design. If you’re interested, then check for these at select international adidas retailers.

You Get The Horns With The Nike Air Pippen 6 “Raging Bull”

What to do when your main man leaves the court…Scottie Pippen couldn’t be Jordan’s sidekick forever and fortunately he had enough skill of his own to hold it down for the 1994 NBA All-Star Game, in which he was awarded the MVP. But even better than that, he was awarded his own signature sneaker.

Just like his bright red pair of the Nike Air Maestro, the Nike Air Pippen 6 “Raging Bull”  will be taking cues and serving up something fairly similar (but better). This rendition of the Nike Air Pippen 6 favors an all red aesthetic with hardwood-print along the upper. Black is added into the inner lining, midsole and Nike branding to keep to the Chicago Bull’s aesthetic. If you’re interested in copping, these will be hitting select Nike spots on May 2nd.

Author’s Take

There are only a few all-red aesthetics out there for me, and this can easily be one of them.

Although not the most popular SILHOUETTE, it can still withstand any shade thrown its way.

And that’s why I’ll mess with this one.

The Canada Kid was just crowned as the NBA’s Rookie of Year for this season and adidas couldn’t be more thrilled. Andrew Wiggins played all 82 games of the regular season and averaged 16.9 points per game. Even though his Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t have a good season (in large part due to injuries), he still managed to be a diamond in the rough.

adidas is celebrating Wiggins’ huge accomplishment by creating this special Rookie of The Year edition/colorway of the new adidas Crazylight Boost 2015 that he initially debuted during All Star Weekend. The shoe is inspired by his path from the North to the NBA and features colors from his high school, Kansas and the Timberwolves on the premium Primeknit upper.

The Andres Wiggins edition of the adidas Crazylight Boost 2015 will be available on May 1st at Foot Locker in Mall of America (Minneapolis) as well as online on Foot Locker and Eastbay.

Author’s Take

Having NBA League Pass, I was able to catch Andrew Wiggins a couple of games this season and THE KID HAS TALENT. Not only does he have crazy hops, but he also has a great all around game that will only get better with time and experience. And the kid plays defense too. Here’s to hoping he comes home (Raptors) when his rookie contract is up.
