A Closer Look at the adidas Originals “Island” Series

Marking its first appearance in the early 1970′s and early 80′s, the adidas Originals “Island” series makes a much needed return for Spring 2015.

An instant favorite among many, with its simple design and eye-catching colorways, the series eventually led to 20 styles being released in total. Retroing the original, and best three models – Samoa, Hawaii and Tahiti – the Samoa is constructed from Collegiate Gold suede uppers with contrasting White three stripes and a clear indoor gum sole. The Hawaii flaunts a Beige and Tan build alongside a complementary gum sole unit. Finishing off the drop is the vibrant Tahiti which works with contrasting tones of Blue finished with a Navy gum rubber sole.

If interested, you can find the vivid Samoa at adidas locations now, while the Hawaii is slated for May 2nd, followed by the Tahiti on May 16th.

Those of you who are looking for a classic styles or essentially waiting for these sneakers to come back from the 70’s/80’s, then you’re in luck. I’m not that much of a fan for either pair, but the colorways are 🙌
