The forthcoming adidas Y-3 Autumn/Winter 2016 footwear collection is given the spotlight, following the label’s presentation during Paris Fashion Week yesterday.
Embodying two stylistic markers of the 1990s—rave culture and minimalism to present a contemporary view on sport-style, elite Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto emphasized tailoring and fashion, while at the same time conjuring a darker, more aggressive style in lean, elongated, and powerful silhouettes. Flaunting a predominantly restrained color palette that is mostly monochromatic, black, white, and varying shades of gray, pops of orange and turquoise provided a nice sense of contrast.
Overall, refined takes on the now-classic Qasa and Pure Boost are revealed, while also offering new, futuristic shapes with minimal construction and non-traditional seaming. Essentially, cleaner, faster and more modern-looking silhouettes that defines the future of the aesthetic. Expect the entire range to debut at select stockists in the near future.

Author’s Take
I’ve always been a fan of the designer and this brand. Price points are obviously high, but the sport fashion sensibilities are always superb in my view.
