Sneaker companies regularly look to the '80s and '90s when reissuing retro designs, but rarely do they o as far back as the 1970s. Falling into that latter category, however, is the upcoming Formel 1 OG from adidas. Hot on the heels of its unique prototype reissue, the latest Formel 1 comes in the form of a one-to-one remake of the original 1978 release -- the shoe's black and yellow colorway remains intact, as does its nylon construction and vintage suede overlays. The design even comes complete with its distinctive tooling and extended heel spoiler -- a stabilizing factor that made the kicks a go-to for some of the era's best athletes.
The adidas Originals Formel 1 OG is set for an official release February 6 at select retailers worldwide, but can already be found at Tokyo's atmos.
