The adidas Dark Ops Cleat Collection is set to pay tribute to the U.S. military. The two cleats you see above are inspired by the footwear and accessories worn by the elite forces of the U.S. military. Let’s take a closer look at the Dark Ops Collection consisting of the 2016 adizero 5-Star 5.0 x KEVLAR® and Freak x KEVLAR®.
The 2016 adizero 5-Star 5.0 is constructed in a durable and flexible canvas similar to what the military uses. The shoe will come with embroidered stripes to pay tribute to the insignia found on the military uniforms, and stitching reinforced with KEVLAR® provides durability and strength. The 5-STAR FRAME, that features a plate reinforced with KEVLAR®, is the perfect blend of lightweight, strength and traction. The cleat also has a unique lacing system as well as a 5-Star Frame for exceptional traction while also being reinforced with the strength of DuPont™ KEVLAR®.
The 2016 Freak x KEVLAR® is made out of also made out of the durable, flexible canvas similar military accessories and footwear. Said to be inspired by the gear-carrying vests worn by elite forces of the U.S. military, the lockweb midfoot will feature a tunable lacing system to tailor the fit and performance of the cleat. The cleat will also have embroidered stripes that pay tribute to the insignia found military uniforms, and the stitching reinforced with KEVLAR® will provide durability and strength. Just like 2016 adizero 5-Star 5.0, the 5-STAR FRAME which features a plate reinforced with KEVLAR®, is the optimum blend of lightweight, strength and traction.
The 2016 adizero 5-Star 5.0 will retail for $120, and the 2016 Freak x KEVLAR® will be available for $149 beginning on October 29th at www.adidas.com and www.Eastbay.com.
