Despite numerous complaints concerning the astronomical prices of Kanye West's Yeezy Season 1, only the most ardent fans of Yeezus remained undeterred, turning up in number at Barneys New York's Madison Ave location yesterday to line up for the new releases. According to The Daily Mail, the shoppers had to go to the store the night before to pick up a wristband allowing them to enter the queue, before lining up for five hours from 5am and splurging up to $4,000 USD each on various designs. One 15-year-old customer said, "I'm mostly after the boots. If Kanye blesses something then it sells out. These clothes are a blessing to me." Meanwhile, another shopper had bought two pairs of Yeezy 950 boots for $1,200 USD for himself and his girlfriend, adding that "Air Jordans are cool for teenagers but these are for people into fashion." Watched over by 14 police officers and security guards, the line proceeded in orderly fashion, but as one customer said, "This was not a luxury clothing experience. They did not sort the line, they did not even bring us water." Anticipate the same scenes to repeat upon the November 14 release of the tan version of the Yeezy Boost 350.
