The latest innovation to come out of adidas’ Futuercraft 3D program is the adidas Tailored Fibre. After seeing the adidas Futurecraft Leather Superstar release last November we now see something that will be embraced by fans of the popular Ultra Boost. Adidas decribes the Futurecraft Tailored Fibre as “a revolutionary manufacturing technique that enables unique footwear designs to be modified to the individual needs of any athlete.”

Adidas released an amazing video that you can see above which shows the production process that occurs in the creation of the sneaker. From the looks of it a machine/robot takes care of everything and produces a carefully designed shoe that is molded to the shape of your foot with what looks to be a Primeknit upper and a full length BOOST midsole.

Unfortunately for us the adidas Tailored Fibre is only a prototype model for now but we may see a retail release in the future. What are your thoughts on this new silhouette and adidas’ Futurecraft technology?

Author’s Take

Watching the video above had me in awe and amazed at the what robots/machines can do these days. As for the Tailored Fibre silhouette, I think it has a nice simple look similar to the Pure Boost and Ultra Boost.
