James Harden’s first signature shoe as a member of the adidas family seems like a formality. Until then, though, fans of the Houston Rockets superstar and basketball shoes in general will be pleased to know the three stripes continues to roll out player-edition sneakers for last season’s MVP runner-up.
Drawing inspiration from Harden’s burgeoning status as one of the sporting world’s fashion icons comes the adidas Crazylight Boost 2.5 Cargo edition.

This latest PE, which The Beard donned during the Three-Point Shootout at Toronto’s All-Star weekend, is designed with an all suede olive-based color palette that features silver accents – including Harden’s personal logo on the tongue. adidas’ famed Boost cushioning affords basketball’s most aggressive playmaker with the comfort needed to start, stop, and cut on a dime.
Make no mistake, though. The Crazylight Boost Cargo edition is about style as much as it is substance, an obvious reality that Harden is proud to admit.
“I wake up every day and decide who I want to be,” he said. “It’s a new direction where I can merge my game with my love for style.”
The Crazylight Boost 2.5 Cargo edition retails for $130 and will be available at adidas.com, Foot Locker, and Eastbay on March 10.
