In important NBA offseason news, Houston Rockets guard James Harden is still throwing out first pitches at baseball games. He is not, however, wearing jorts while doing so. (The question is, though, was he wearing Nike or Adidas?) You see, Harden threw out a first pitch last June while wearing jorts. As someone who has been photographed while wearing jorts, I can attest this is bad if someone were ever to create a time capsule. And because the Internet is basically an electronic time capsule, I can personally attest this is bad for Harden.
Anyway, Harden threw out another first pitch for the Houston Astros on Wednesday and, would you look at that, it looked like it might’ve been a strike:
Actually, it wasn’t.
“To be honest, it was a ball,” Harden told the Houston Chronicle. “It felt good. That’s all that matters. I didn’t hit anybody. I didn’t hit a cameraman. I’m happy about that.”
Sounds like Harden’s just happy he didn’t drill the cameraman like Michael Carter-Williams at a Brewers game earlier this summer.
Here are some more photos from Wednesday night’s appearance:
Sadly for the Astros, Harden’s appearance wasn’t a good luck charm. Houston lost 6-5 to the Angles and is now three games behind the Rangers in the American League West division.
