Rumor: Kanye West to Sign With Adidas Y-3

As any sneakerhead would know, Kanye West has left (and continues to leave) a major impact on the world of footwear. Aside from his line with Louis Vuitton, West has released two Air Yeezy collaborations with Nike, sweeping the world by storm. All colorways have become some of the most sought after sneakers in a relatively short period of time, and may possibly continue to do so with the unconfirmed release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October”.

As of recently, there have been some differences between Kanye and the Nike brand in regards to his sneaker line. According to West while on his “Yeezus Tour”, he claims “Mark Parker even talked s***”, referring to the CEO of Nike. In an interview with Philadelphia’s Wired 96.5 earlier this week, West went on to say:

“I want to make product like shoes, and you think about the Yeezys and how people really wanted that. I just signed my deal a week and a half ago, but it took a major company, I can’t say yet, we’re going to announce it in a couple of weeks.”

Many of rumors floating around all seem to point in the direction of Kanye West signing a major deal with not only adidas, but also with their already existing and successful collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto. Other rumors have speculated saying the collab will produce a clothing and sneaker line entitled adidas Y-3 Yeezi. While much of the hearsay travels through the grapevine we know as the internet, no official statement has been released from West nor adidas Y-3.
