NBA Kicks: Andre Drummond rocks OG Air Jordan 14 “Oxidized Green”, DeMarre Carroll dons Air Jordan 28 “Red Elephant”

2013 - November 19 - 6

So Andre Drummond wore the Air Jordan 14 “Oxidized Green” on Tuesday night against the struggling New York Knicks. Unless there was a retro release that nobody heard about, those kicks Drummond wore are an OG pair that was released in 1999. So here’s a few things to think about…

  • It’s pretty cool to see a shoe that was made in 1999 still hold up to the rigors of NBA action, even if it’s probably not safe and the shoe could explode at any moment

  • Dear God, if that really is an 1999 OG pair of the “Oxidized Green”, that means that Drummond was at most six years at the time of release

  • If that last point made you feel old, this is for you…

Damn, that hair, Pete...

Meanwhile, DeMarre Carroll probably thought it would be awkward to go up against LeBron James with the Nike LeBron 11 while James still wore the LeBron 10 Elite so he switched to the Air Jordan XX8 “Red Elephant” in a battle of the $250 kicks. As for the rest of the night, Martell Webster and Jason Thompson wore Nike KD 6 iDs, Brandon Jennings and JR Smith faced off for the first time after their Twitter beef, Chris Bosh showed off a new PE of the Nike Air Max Hyperposite and much more.
