NBA Kicks: Tony Wroten and Monta Ellis rock greatness with the Air Jordan 12 “Varsity Red” and “Rising Sun”

2013 - November 20 - Cover

The Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs” might be the greatest single Air Jordan of all-time*, but it also has a number of other iconic colorways that are classics in their own way. Take the soon-to-be-released “Taxi” or the iconic “Flu Game” that will serve as one lucky man’s retirement fund someday; all fine examples of the awesomeness of the Air Jordan 12. Wednesday night, we were blessed to see two amazing Air Jordan 12s on the court courtesy of renowned Jordan guys who are not actually Jordan Brand guys (get it?) Tony Wroten and Monta Ellis. Wroten continued his breakout season in the Air Jordan 12 “White/Varsity Red” while Ellis continues to prove the haters wrong as he continues to win (see what happens when good players – Vince Carter notwithstanding – and good coaching does to Monta?) while still playing “Monta Ball” in the Air Jordan 12 “Rising Sun”.

As for the rest of the night in kicks, Lavoy Allen and Marcus Morris both wore Nike LeBron 11 iDs, Jarrett Jack as a Nike KD 6 “PBJ” snack break, Kemba Walker and Greivis Vasquez had cool Under Armour Anatomix Spawn PEs and much more.

*Juan’s views on great Air Jordans do not necessarily reflect those of Kicks on Fire, Complex Media or Jordan heads, but it’s not like he cares, especially for that last group.
