NBA Kicks: J.R. Smith rocks a “Knicks” Nike Kobe 8 iD

2013 - November 14 - 11

These days, J.R. Smith is getting plenty of attention for reasons not necessarily good on the court (he has struggled since coming back from a suspension to start the season) and off it (having to defend his little brother Chris Smith, who plays for the Knicks, on social media against Brandon Jennings), but we’re not here for that. Ultimately, those things are harmless in the grand scheme once Smith has a breakout game and Chris earns his keep, so let’s focus on what really matters to sneakerheads, J.R.’s Kobe 8 iDs from last night.

Using the Blue Coral Snake print on the Engineered Mesh upper as the base, the colorway could very well pass as a player exclusive, but thakfully it is something that ordinary folks like you and me can put together if we dug that color scheme and were Knicks fans (one out of two ain’t bad). If you’re interested you can actually make these on NIKEiD where there is a product page that says “Nike Kobe 8 iD designed by J.R. Smith”.

Check out the rest of the night in kicks including Russell Westbrook and Andre Iguodala trading game-winning shots, Carmelo Anthony going back to the Melo M9 and much more.
