On a night where we had to give the NBA Kicks headliner title to Dirk Nowitkzi (not that there’s anything wrong with that), we got a flurry of player exclusives from Nike and adidas courtesy of the Champions Classic in college basketball. Featuring four of the top five ranked teams in the country, including top prospects Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Julius Randle, the big two brands (it’s a little more competitive in college for adidas especially after Louisville – a three stripes school – won the NCAA title last season) showcased their top kicks of the moment in exclusive colorways that would have sneakerheads drooling if they ever hit retail. Wiggins helped push Kansas to a win over Duke in an adidas Rose 773, Parker had a great showing in a Nike LeBron 10 Elite PE and Randle showed why he has a shot of being the top pick in next year’s NBA Draft in a Nike LeBron 11 PE while leading top-ranked Kentucky to victory over no. 2 Michigan State, which featured plenty of Nike KD 6 PEs.
