You know how people say that robots will be taking over the future? As technology gets more and more advanced every year that statement is beginning to sound more realistic.
Adidas today introduced the future of production with their SPEEDFACTORY machines that create high-performance sporting goods faster than ever before. Here is what adidas had to say about their new SPEEDFACTORY creation, “SPEEDFACTORY features intelligent, robotic technology that brings the highest performance quality and a unique design to shoes. Five hundred pairs of the first concept running shoe developed in the pilot SPEEDFACTORY will be available in the first half of 2016, with high-volume production for consumers set to launch in the near future.”
“SPEEDFACTORY combines the design and development of sporting goods with an automated, decentralized and flexible manufacturing process,” said Herbert Hainer, CEO of the adidas Group. “This flexibility opens doors for us to be much closer to the market and to where our consumer is. Ultimately we are at the forefront of innovating our industry by expanding the boundaries for how, where and when we can manufacture our industry-leading products.”
SPEEDCRAFT by adidas is their latest initiative in their vision to offer consumers a holistic, high-tech experience using revolutionary manufacturing technologies, in-store customization and interactive digital experiences. Earlier this year they also introduced their Futurecraft 3D technology which will also be revolutionizing the sneaker world.
