There’s no doubt that when it comes to Nike Basketball sneakers the silhouettes that attract the most attention are the ones that belong to their signature athletes. While LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are known as the faces of Nike, there’s still lots of other talent on their roster that also wear Nikes on a daily basis.
James Harden was one of those players that may or may have not gotten his signature sneaker with Nike had he not switched over to team adidas, but we’ll never know what would have really happened. When James was with the Swoosh he helped push/promote some of Nike’s most popular basketball sneakers that didn’t belong to any specific athlete. Two of those shoes were the Nike Zoom Run The One which was then followed up by the Hyperchase. As we get ready to enter 2016 Nike has created another new basketball shoe that will probably be worn by those athletes next in line to receive their own signature shoe, like Paul George. Today we take a look at the Nike Hyperlive which has a similar appearance to the Hyperchase thanks to the almost identical sole unit. The mesh upper has been switched out for a more breathable hyperfuse construction that I’m sure ballers will appreciate.
Take a look at this Duke-inspired colorway that flaunts royal blue, black and white and let us know your first thoughts on this new basketball sneaker from Nike.

Author’s Take
It’s always good to have options when it comes to basketball sneakers because not everybody can afford to pay around $200 on LeBrons, Kobes or KDs. I feel like this Hyperlive looks too much like the Hyperchase though. Couldn’t they have made it look completely different?
