Foot Locker and adidas Originals released their newest commercial today featuring “The Bobby Butter Story.” The spot stars past NBA Rookies of The Year Damian Lillard and Andrew Wiggins as well as a special appearance by comedian and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
In the commercial Damian gives Wiggins advice by telling him that “early success can’t make him complacent” and he always has to “evolve” because he doesn’t wanna end up like Bobby Butter, a legendary street baller played by Kimmel. Damian and Andrew are wearing the adidas Originals ZX Flux Prism Sole and Red Galaxy models in the commercial as well as some of the newest and freshest adidas gear that’s available at the moment.
“I’ve been in a few Foot Locker spots now and they keep getting more fun each time,” said Lillard. “It was awesome getting to do this one and I’m excited to see what the fans think.”
The commercial launched as part of Foot Locker’s “Fresh Start” back-to-school campaign that showcases the latest and greatest in adidas Originals gear.
“Kicking off the back-to-school season with two young NBA talents – Lillard and Wiggins – is a perfect way to feature the hot new adidas Originals gear hitting Foot Locker stores,” said Stacy Cunningham, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Foot Locker. “Tying in Jimmy Kimmel makes the spot even more fun, as we continue to push the comedic expectations of our ‘Approved’ campaign.”
