It’s all or nothing when it comes time to cop the heat. But we all have different definitions of what “heat” is. Are plain kicks what we call heat? Or does heat have to be something loud and printed up? That’s the ongoing debate. So what we want to know is do you go all in with the prints, or do you stick with nothing and go for the plain janes? You let us know.
adidas Originals ZX Flux “White”
The first on the docket is the Flux in all white. Aside from the fact that you’ve got to be super careful not to mess these up and always carry around Jason Markk wipes, these can definitely land on the heat list if you’re trying to keep it simple.
adidas Originals ZX Flux “Printed Soles”
Counter: All white but with printed soles. My personal opinion is that these take the cake, but I’m open to hearing other opinions. It’s still keeps to the simple upper, but when you get down below and in side the model? It ups the ante.
New Balance 574 “Black Leather”
The New Balance 574 model on its own is dope. Draped in an all black leather upper? Well, that’s something that is a little harder to take down. I’m no fan of simplicity, but these are calling to me.
New Balance 580
This one might be a little sexist considering it’s just for the ladies, but my point is that a dope all Black design can quickly be disregarded for something with a pattern or print. In this instance, I’m going all in.
Air Jordan 11Lab4 “Black”
An all black Air Jordan 11 Lab4 is different than an all Black leather New Balance. Saying no to these, even if they’re not your favorite Air Jordan silhouette, is a bit harder. And they’re something I’d consider.
Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux”
Alright so this one might be a little unfair considering everyone is a fan of the Air Jordan 7. But the “all or nothing” question stands: would you favor an all black Jordan 11 Lab4 with it’s shiny upper, or this Air Jordan 7 with printed tongues?
Nike Air Max 1
The Neymar inspired Nike Air Max 1s. Now, if you’re truly against going all in, you’ll probably pass on these. I love prints and loud looks, and I’m still passing on these. This time, I’m going for nothing.
Nike Dunk High
It’s kind of green like the Nike Air Max 1, but bear with me. The Air Max had a great print going on, but sometimes it can be too much. When it comes to deciding “all or nothing”, print vs. plain, I’m going for the Dunks.
Vans Sk8-Hi “Checkerboard”
It doesn’t even matter if these are plain or not. I’m repping Vans to the grave. This time, however, the debate is whether or not this printed Vans Sk8-Hi is better than the good ol’ Plain Jane Sk8-His. The answer, in my opinion, it’s a tie.
Supreme x Vans Old Skool
All bets are off if the plan option looks this good. In this case, Supreme x Vans hit the Vans Old Skool with a perforated grid pattern, while also keeping a tonal upper. When you’ve got detail and simplicity? It’s a win.
