Vans Japan Brings Back the Knu Skool

Before Palace would link with adidas for Primeknit trainers or Stefan Janoskis would be a popular favorite worldwide, skate shoes in the '90s were loved for their big, puffy, oversized, designs. 2015 continues to embrace '90s-inspired silhouettes as Vans Japan reintroduces the brand's Knu Skool model. The model first launched as a modern update of the traditional Old Skool, and re-appears with the same construction as the original 1998 release from an overly-padded upper right down to its plush tongue which are so remniscent of the Etnies, DCs and other '90s-era favorites that were popular years ago. Four basic colorways are offered, which can be viewed in the gallery above. The Fall/Winter 2015 Knu Skool reissues are only available in Japan for ¥9,720 JPY (approximately $80 USD).
