Today we received the news from adidas they there will be no Yeezy Boost release this weekend and while I’m sure many of you are bummed out, the good things is that adidas has plenty of other shoes we can appreciate.
Their most popular shoe at the moment that isn’t directly attached to Kanye West has got to be the adidas Ultra Boost. In the past few weeks we’ve been seeing new colorways surface and today adidas officially unveiled the 2016 version of their flagship runner. The 2016 adidas Ultra Boost has been upgraded with a gradient multicolored heatwave pattern as well as technical changes that include a more supportive fit at the base of the upper and more breathability and flexibility at the top. The Primeknit material is now knitted with a different tightness to support the foot in all the right places. The outsole has also received some significant upgrades with the addition of Continental Rubber™ and a flattened Stretch Web outsole for even more durability.
Both the men and women can pick up new colorways of the 2016 adidas Ultra Boost at select adidas retailers and adidas.com for $180. The women’s colorways include Clear Green, Orange, White and Black and for the men there’s Clear Green, Solar Red and White.
Author’s Take
The changes made to the 2016 Ultra Boost aren’t game changers, but they are changes. I’ve never tried on a pair so I’m not sure how the new tighter fit or more rugged outsole will feel, but the gradient multicolored heatwave pattern is definitely a nice look. I look forward to more colorways in the future as well as buying my first pair soon.
