We all know that Kanye West’s adidas Yeezy Boost won Footwear News “Shoe Of The Year” award, but that same event also awarded Pharrell Williams the “Collaboration of the Year” award. Surprisingly, the award was earned on a collaboration that wasn’t done with adidas.
This year was the first year that Footwear News awarded someone the “Collaboration of the Year” award, and Pharrel Williams became the first artist to receive it by putting his imprint on the Bee Line for BBC x Timberland 6-inch “Honeycomb” boot. Pharrell Williams had a big hand in helping create the three-way collaboration concept. It was definitely a “think outside the box” design. Pharrell was not in attendnace to receive the award but he did accept it via a video message thanking the organization for the award. Check out the video above showing Pharrell thanking them for his award.

Good for Pharrell. He deserves the award. I’m just surprised that it wasn’t a collab with adidas.
