Jimmy Butler Took a 75% Pay Cut Switching From adidas to Jordan Brand

jimmy Jimmy Butler Gave Up a Huge Chunk of Money to Play in Jordans 2

Jimmy Butler had an amazing 2014-15 NBA season that resulted in his first NBA All-Star birth and the Most Improved Player Award. While Derrick Rose was injured for parts of the season, he was forced to step up as the offensive and defensive leader of the team.

You may have also noticed that Jimmy Buckets was wearing Air Jordan sneakers this year. After leaving adidas in 2014, the versatile wing player wore some memorable Air Jordan heat this past year. But why would he leave adidas for Jordan? Chicago Business is reporting that, according to Butler’s agent, Butler took a 75% pay cut switching from adidas to Jordan Brand. There’s no word on the figures, but that sounds like a nice amount of money Butler left on the table.

My guess is that maybe Butler didn’t want to be in Derrick Rose’s shadow since he’s one of adidas’ biggest signature players. Or maybe he just loves Air Jordans since he does play for MJ’s team.

Why do you think Jimmy Butler left money on the table with adidas to join Jordan Brand?
