Here are the New York Knicks’ new orange alternate uniforms (Photo)

Another day, another new uniform. On Thursday, the San Antonio Spurs showed off their new military-inspired camouflage unis, and on Friday morning, after teasing it all week, the New York Knicks followed suit by introducing a new — and very bright — orange strip. Apparently, the Knicks aren't quite as concerned with blending in as the Spurs are. Who'd have thunk it?

Here it is, as modeled by All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony:

There's an "all-access" video featuring a number of players wearing the new jersey at KnicksNow.com, too, if you're eager to see how it hangs on non-'Melo Knicks. It's on sale now, natch, if you're desperate to avoid wardrobe scurvy.

As I wrote when New York guard Iman Shumpert leaked the orange alternates on Instagram back in June, the Knicks redesigned their home and away uniforms before last season, but didn't feature a regular alternate option. They did wear all-orange uniforms on Christmas Day against the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the "BIG Color" campaign promoting Adidas' Winter Court Collection, though, and apparently the folks in charge of such decisions liked the idea enough to bring it back as a full-fledged third jersey. When and how frequently they'll wear them remains unclear, as Seth Rosenthal notes at Posting and Toasting, but given both the fanfare surrounding the release and the fall-appropriate color scheme, one would assume they'll see the Madison Square Garden court sooner rather than later.

All-orange-everything might not be up everyone's alley, but I feel like staying true to the nice-and-simple style of last season's reboot keeps this clean, even if you're not necessarily a fan of being the Great Pumpkin. That's what I think, at least — feel free to let us know if you're eager to get citrus-y in the comments below.
