jeffstaple Talks to Monocle About What It Means and Costs to Be a Sneakerhead

With the increasing ubiquity of sneaker culture in the mainstream, one of its most important proponents, jeffstaple, has appeared on The Monocle Weekly show on the Monocle 24 online radio station to discuss what it means to be a sneakerhead. In the 12-minute interview, jeffstaple discusses everything from the 2005 riots around the release of his infamous Staple Design x Nike Dunk Lo Pro SB design; the duality of collecting something which is designed to eventually be destroyed through repeated use; why luxury brand sneakers will never have the same traction as the likes of Nike and adidas; and why bargain bin footwear is the new word in exclusivity. The entire show can be found here, but skip to the 39:30 mark for jeffstaple's segment.
