The adidas Originals Stan Smith "Oil Spill" is a slick, new colorway from the brand's Spring/Summer 2014 collection and the latest in a flurry of recent Stan Smith releases. Picking up from last year's similarly-themed basketball drop, the retro kicks are most noticeable for iridescent, patent leather uppers that were intended to mimic the look of crude oil -- an effect that gives a nice visual punch to the design's sleek silhouette. Adding a luxurious touch to the shoe's build, meanwhile, is the use of Italian leather to go with off-white rubber soles.
