adidas today unveiled its latest shoe, the revolutionary Springblade. Designed to offer unparalleled energy return, the Springblade features 16 elastic, high tech polymer blades in lieu of a traditional midsole. Each blade is angled forward to promote forward rather than vertical energy return and is designed to support the runner through every phase of their running stride. Six years in the making, the adidas Innovation Team tested hundreds of materials to ensure the right the right mix of responsiveness and durability. The flexible construction of the upper ensures that it hugs the top of the foot, thus promoting optimum energy return. The adidas Springblade will be available at adidas locations, online and at select retailers starting August 1 with a retail price of $180 USD.
