According to T Magazine, Kanye West will be getting his own retail store some time in the near future. Per the terms in his adidas contract, Yeezy is guaranteed his own retail space (what a surprise). With the fashion show he displayed during All Star Weekend in NY and the countless articles of ridiculously overpriced clothing he showed, it was only a matter of time until this happened.
“I dreamed, since I was a little kid, of having my own store where I could curate every shoe, sweatshirt and color,” Kanye told the T Magazine. “I have sketches of it. I cried over the idea of having my own store.”
The details or location are not set in stone since Kanye and his team are still working on the project. At the rate that his adidas Yeezy Boost sold and the thousand and possibly millions of people still waiting on another restock, do you think that Kanye’s fashion line will be successful? With the reported prices of some of his clothing going over $1,000 I doubt it will be a hit. Kanye has to identify with the crowd of kids who are buying his shoes, and I doubt that they have thousands of dollars to spare just to buy a couple of articles of his clothing. I guess only time will tell if his clothing brand will be a hit or miss.
