Under Armour Encroaches on Nike's Territory With Portland Expansion

Under Armour has announced that it has secured a new building in Portland, Oregon worth $10 million USD in order to further develop its footwear and innovations operations. Because the sprawling 70,000 square foot space was recently a local YMCA, the newly appropriated building comes complete with a full fitness facility, consisting of swimming pools, basketball courts, locker rooms and offices. While UA has yet to publicly state the purpose of its newly acquired building in Portland, Oregon, which also houses its two main competitors, Nike and adidas, reports confirm that the lease is long-term and represents Under Armour's aggressive campaign to improve its footwear technology and innovations department. Stay tuned for further news on Under Armour's new Portland expansion.
