During this past winter, the Boston blizzard welcomed a hero – Chris Laudani – a bartender who rose to fame after shoveling the infamous Boston Marathon finish line when the city was hit by over 30 inches of snow.
With the moment captured by a photographer, adidas and Boston graffiti artist, Percy Fortini-Wright, reimagined Chris’ now iconic image as one of five memorable moments in Boston Marathon history. Each art piece will be auctioned off to raise money for the One Fund Center – an organization aimed to help those most affected by the Marathon bombings.
Interestingly as a marathon enthusiast himself, Chris Laudani crossed that same finish line this past Monday, April 20th as a guest of official race partner adidas with his brother Greg wearing the adidas Ultra Boost, with the final time marked at 4:24:30.
Laudani bested his previous attempt of the Boston Marathon in 2011, with a time of 5:41:15.
