The adidas Originals Stan Smith Gets a Change of “Sole”

adidas Changes the Soles on the Classic Stan Smith 3 adidas Changes the Soles on the Classic Stan Smith 2 adidas Changes the Soles on the Classic Stan Smith 1

The adidas Originals Stan Smith has risen from the dead these last couple of years thanks to countless different colorways and materials that have been placed on the retro tennis sneaker.

I mean I guess you can say that Pharrell also has something (a big part) to do with the rising popularity of the shoe. The latest version of the Stan Smith takes a different approach than everything that we’ve seen in the past. Instead of switching up the materials on the upper, this Stan Smith Lux is giving a different look to the sole. The sole on this sneaker features some horizontal lines that make the shoe look like it’s cracking apart, pretty cool look if you ask me. Aside from the all white upper, red detailing has been added on the heel tab and tongue branding.

Already available at overseas retailers, expect these Stan Smiths in the U.S. real soon.

Author’s Take

The Stan Smith may be a classic when it comes adidas, but it’s a shoe that I just can’t seem to like. I’ve seen in so many colorways and with so many different materials, but it just never grew on me. Kudos to adidas for experimenting with the silhouette though.
