Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is widely regarded as the greatest big man in the history of the NBA. With an impressive resume that includes 3 NCAA Championships, 19 NBA All-Star nods, 6 NBA Championships, and 6 NBA MVP Awards. And in addition to those accolades Jabbar still remains the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 38,387 points.
To celebrate the NBA Hall of Fame career of Jabbar adidas Originals has re-released the adidas Jabbar Hi in this “Blueprint” color way. Prior to creating the sneaker adidas asked many of their athletes including Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, and Kenneth Faried what Jabbar meant to the game of basketball . One player responded by saying he is the “Blueprint.”
This “Blueprint” color way of the Jabbar Hi features a mixture of high quality blue suede, Tyvek blueprint paper, and white stitches that mimic the lines seen on an actual blueprint. In addition to the amazing materials this sneaker also features Jabbar attempting his iconic skyhook on the tongue, the adidas Originals logo stitched into the heel, and the names and answers of those players interviewed on the insoles.
The adidas Originals Jabbar Hi “Blueprint” is set to release this Firday, February 14, 2014 on adidas.com, and at select adidas retail locations, for $100.
