The adidas Originals Collectors Project

In an innovative demonstration of synergy between fan and brand, adidas Originals has launched its Collector's Project, uniting five of the world's most die-hard adidas collectors at the iconic brand's global HQ. A once in a lifetime experience, each of the collectors was given the chance to rework their favorite archive model to create a super-limited-edition release.

Two of the collectors chose to relive memories through their picks; Germany's Sneakerqueen chose the Rivalry Hi as the conduit for her love of '80s hip-hop culture while Harlem-based DJ Operator Emz opted for the Pro Model '80s he remembers growing up with in New York.

Others had different reasons including Robert Brooks of the UK, who zeroed in on the ZX550 that he'd been searching high and low for until recently. Mr. Magara of Tokyo chose the Country as his canvas and reportedly pulled out all the stops for this truly "kid in a candy store" opportunity. Lastly, Ralf Tiittanen of Turkey chose to reinterpret the Bahamas silhouette and explore his passion for the understated, clean and refined.

Additional information about the project is available through the brand's tumblr and you can be sure we'll give you the latest updates on the collector-created models as they're revealed.
