Although the adidas Originals Superstar was not meant to be used as a skating shoe, it appears to have some of the traits that you look for in a skate-appropriate shoe. With a few additions and tweaks, adidas has managed to make the timeless classic into a version that is more than suitable to skate in. Let’s take a closer look at the adidas Originals Superstar Vulc.

Features added to the shoe include traits such as the vulcanized sole unit and the extra padding on the tongue. The particular colorway comes in a white leather upper complimented by the off-white Three Stripes branding placed on the side panels of the shoes. Contrasting the all-white looks is the gold branding placed on the tongue and heel of the shoe. One of the major additions/features on the shoe comes in the form of the gum rubber covering the entire shell toe and sole unit of the shoe, definitely giving the model a very unique look. Technology features include the usage of the ADIPRENE+ insole for added comfort, which should come in handy when using them to skate in. Said to be available now, let us know what you think about the adidas Originals Superstar Vulc.

Author’s Take

If adidas can somehow find a way to make the gum rubber shell toe come in white instead of gum, I think the shoe would look a whole lot better. Aside from that, it’s dope to see a classic like the Superstar transformed into a shoe that’s more suitable to skate in.
