2016 marks as the Year of the Monkey in the Chinese zodiac, and with the celebration occurring next month (February 8th), adidas presents a limited edition variations of the D Lillard 2 and D Rose 6 to commemorate the event.
Utilizing custom fire monkey graphics, tonal prints and vivid color hits to encapsulate its theme respectively, the D Lillard 2 is comprised of an all-black upper with nubuck detailing and breathable mesh panels. Red and gold accents, a clear blue outsole and Oak Print details on the heel cap and BOUNCE midsole round out the profile.
Meanwhile, the D Rose 6 incorporates the thematic graphic in red/black, while contrasting blue accents adorn the tongue, webbing straps and clear outsole. Furthermore, gold hits are placed on the eyelets, signature D Rose details and adidas badging. A custom graphic is also featured on the back of the tongue, as it all rests atop a clean white midsole unit and blue outsole to perfectly coordinate with its theme.
You can find these special pairs at select adidas locations nationwide on February 5th, with the D Rose 6 listed for $140 and D Lillard 2 at $105 respectively.

Cool execution overall. Out of the two, I’d have to side with the lillards. It’s obviously more versatile and subtle.
