After taking a look at the extremely limited adidas Originals Superstar 80s Metropolis that releases tomorrow, we now see the same Superstar as a part of a collaboration with Taiwan’s Invincible.
Invincible is coming fresh off their collaboration with Asics on the Gel Lyte 3 and now they link up with adidas to create two versions of the Superstar 80s. The Invincible x adidas Originals Superstar 80s is pretty unique in comparison to other Superstars that we’ve seen this year. The ankle of both colorways features bead decorations and the tongue is covered in a reptile texture. The grey pair comes with a premium suede upper and the black pair goes for a leather look. The three stripes branding on the side panels has been done in a new stitched style while Invincible debossed logos on the heel complete the look.
The Invincible x adidas Originals Superstar 80s is scheduled to release on November 21st.
Author’s Take
The beads around the ankle give the shoe a moccasin type look that is something different from what we’re used to seeing. I prefer the grey pair because of the suede upper in comparison to the leather upper on the black version. I don’t see myself picking up either pair though.
