Twitter. It’s one of the best creations of the modern technological era. It allows us to connect with people ALL over the world with the simple click of a few buttons. Over the last few years it has also become one of the best and biggest ways for celebrities, athletes and other popular people to communicate with their fans. But that’s not always a good thing.
In the past we’ve seen people say things on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram that maybe they shouldn’t have. Nick Young aka Swaggy P of the Los Angeles Lakers may have had one of those moments this morning.
Swaggy was holding a Q & A session on his Twitter and one fan asked him “Nike or Adidas?” to which he replied “Whoever pay me.” It’s not clear what his contract is with Nike at the moment, since he’s been a Nike athlete for quite some time now, but if you’re hoping to sign back or stay with Nike that probably wasn’t the smartest answer. Maybe Young is influenced by Harden signing with adidas and he wants some of that Three Stripes money. I can’t blame him though.
Swaggy deleted the tweet soon after, probably a request from his management.
What would you have responded if you were Young? Was he right by saying what he did or does it depend if he’s still under contract with Nike or not?
