It’s the NBA Finals everybody wanted to see, except that there’s a good possibility that it might now be over before it really has a chance to get started. After a fun first 48 minutes, Game 1 took an abrupt turn when we were got a glimpse of Kyrie Irving wincing in pain as he walked back to training room with an apparent knee injury. Up to that point Irving was brilliant and seemed to have recovered from whatever was bothering him throughout the Playoffs. The talk among our side of the Internet was actually less about what Stephen Curry and LeBron James was wearing and more about the wine red and gold Kyrie 1 PE that Irving was rocking.
So now it really becomes the Curry and James show, which was already in progress in these Finals. Curry had a solid outing in his Finals debut while James had his most prolific scoring output ever in the championship round spoiled by the Warriors’ game plan – let LeBron flourish but shut down the rest of the squad. Both of their respective PEs were pretty good for a Finals game, but nothing that was on the level of the Kyrie 1.
As expected Nike came through with white and gold exclusives of their performance models including the HyperRev 2015, Hyperdunk 2014, Zoom Run The One and much more. Hopefully there will be more urgency from adidas and ANTA as these Finals roll along, but for now enjoy this look at the kicks from Game 1.
