Concepts brings us an unlikely collaboration with Karhu.  If this is the first time you’re hearing about the Finnish brand, you’re definitely missing out.  The brand has been in motion since 1916 and actually used to rock the Three Stripes design until 1951, which is when they sold it to the German Sportswear powerhouse adidas.  Pretty impressive for a brand you’ve never heard of.  Rumors of the ’95 Aria silhouette making a comeback were floating around not too long ago, and it looks like they were true.

The Concepts x Karhu ’95 Aria is inspired the Brand’s homeland of Finland.  Specifically designed after the Helsinki train station, this revived classic has received a very dope upgrade.  Comprised of a beautifull medley of colors, the sneaker’s design tells the story behind the brand’s Origin.  “Green copper roofs, famed glowing granite stone, orange Finnish sunsets, and a vibrant blue sky.”  There’s no better way to put it.

The sneaker will be available for purchase June 20th, at the Concepts in Cambridge, Mass., followed by an online release at 12 p.m.  Let us know if you plan on copping, and what you like about the sneaker below!

Author’s Take:

Remember what I said about missing out?  Well, I’ve definitely been missing out.  The sneaker really isn’t bad!  I’m sure most people will stay away from them because they’ve never heard of Karhu, but I’m excited to embrace a new brand into my life.  The colorway is a little weird, but the story it tells definitely makes it better.
