Of course we’re going in on National Chocolate Ice Cream Day (editor’s note: That was yesterday, but also who knew?). Chocolate fanatic or not, we’re going to take a look at some of the best ice cream inspired kicks in the game for all the sweet-toothed sneakerheads out there. While you’re scrolling, note what makes your mouth drool and what leaves your fingers itching to cop.
Nike KD 7 GS “Frozens” – Cotton Candy
Anyone who isn’t rocking GS is hella envious of these “Frozens” Nike KD7s. The colors are bright, the graphics are on point, so there isn’t much to hate on. If you had to pair ‘em up with a treat, they’d be right alongside your favorite cotton candy ice cream.
Ice Cream “Drippy” (Red) – Strawberry Cheesecake
Strawberry cheesecake anyone? If we’re looking at ice cream inspired kicks, it only makes sense to take a look at a little something from our friends over at Ice Cream themselves. With a predominately Strawberry Red upper and just touches of Vanilla White accents, these would definitely be a tasty cop.
Saucony G9 Shadow 6 “Mint Chocolate Chip”
I never understood all the hype that surrounded mint chocolate-chip ice-cream but if you’re a fan, then you’re definitely a fan of what Saucony brought us this Summer. A minty green upper and Black suede overlays keeps you from passing by these without doing a double take.
New Balance 530 “Ice Cream” Collection
New Balance’s NB 530 “Ice Cream” Collection paired up its sneakers and ice creams themselves, and although I’ve never seen these type of popsicles before, they’re pretty spot on when it comes to the reflective NB 530 colorways. A taste for kiwi, mint, raspberry or a dreamsicle? New Balance is serving it all.
Nike KD 6 “Ice Cream” AMAC Customs – Cotton Candy and Sprinkles
What? Some of the best ice cream inspired designs that I’ve seen have been in the form of a custom. At times it seems as though some brands shy away from going too hard, but Amaac came through with extra sauce on the top with these cotton candy KD 6s.
Bape x Ice Cream Air Jordan 3 JBF Custom – Red Velvet
Red velvet ice cream is always a good choice, especially when there’s chocolate sauce drizzled on top. (Really that’s the only ice cream reference I can draw here) JBF definitely went in on these with two spoons instead of one, making us want to cop these in one scoop.
adidas Originals Gazelle “Ice Cream” – Pistachio
That’s cool. Adidas came through for us with more than one ice cream motif when it came time for the adidas Gazelle to take the spotlight. Personally, my eyes are on ye old green suede iterations, looking like pistachio ice cream on a platter.
Air Jordan 4 “Oreo”
Oreo colorways just can’t be done better than by the Air Jordan 4. Many have tried, few have succeeded. Without over doing it, Jordan Brand delivered an Oreo of a masterpiece that many of you probably copped.
Nike KD 7 Lifestyle “Hazelnut” – Hazelnut
Hazelnut everything. From toe to heel these are graced in a warm, hazelnut tone that melts in your mouth. Though I restrict hazelnut to my coffee use only, it is a color and a flavor that is quickly expanding in the sneaker and, erm, food realm. Kuddos.
Taka Hayahi x Vans Vault TH Chukka Gore LX – Coffee
Yes, best for last. Not only do I vibe mad hard with the silhouette, but I’m about that coffee life. In the morning, at night, chilled, served hot, eaten as ice cream or as a beverage? It’s always a good thing to have on deck, and the same can be said for the Chukka Gore LX. It may be National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, but it’s always coffee day for me.
