Years ago Chris Paul and Darren Collison were teammates on the New Orleans Hornets. At the time, Collison saw his stock rise as he played admirably while Paul was dealing with an injury, producing stats that were just a tad below Paul’s typical lines. Even though he has bounced around the league since those early years in New Orleans, Paul was more than happy to help bring Collison in this season to the Clippers after losing Eric Bledsoe via a trade in the offseason. So you could say Collison and Paul know the value of a timely assist and it definitely manifested itself on Sunday afternoon as the duo helped lead the Clippers fight back from a 16-point fourth quarter deficit to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder and tie up their series at two games apiece. Paul would check Kevin Durant for much of that stretch doing his best “Rajon Rondo trolling LeBron James” impersonation in another new colorway of the Jordan CP3.VII while Collison shined on a national television stage in the adidas Crazy Fast 2.
As for the rest of the weekend in kicks, LeBron James and Norris Cole both wore the “Team” colorway of the Nike LeBron 11 Elite, Dwyane Wade had another new colorway of the Li-Ning Way of Wade 2 Encore, Ray Allen was in Brooklyn in a gradient Air Jordan XX8 SE and much more.
