Hello and welcome to 2014, where the promise of new kicks on your feet await you and a few million other people that love nothing better than to hang out by their laptop or iPhone on Saturdays at five in the morning (Pacific Time). With the New Year come new expectations, new colorways, new retros (both inspired and oxymoronic) and apparently (sigh) new prices. So what is the smart sneakerhead going to do in the coming months? They are going to take their time and plot out the key releases that they absolutely positively must have but have the discipline to move on if they miss out. They will make the right connections, not use bots and never overpay for something that will restock in a few weeks or drastically drop in resale value in time. That is what the new and improved and smarter sneakerhead will do…
And then there’s everybody else, acting like DiCaprio from Wolf Of Wall Street…
Anyways, here is a look at some of the kicks that are dropping in January. Do you need to buy any of them now? Except for the “Prelude” Kobes, probably not (that’s that why we always give our educated guess as to whether they will sell out fast or not with each sneaker on the list) as Nike and Jordan Brand are mostly launching actual new kicks and interesting new colorways for their retros this month, so you should be able to relax a little and settle for the next few weeks before the flood of drops in late January and February (unconfirmed Black History Month and All-Star drops) start to overwhelm us.
