Welcome back to this weeks edition of Kicks On Canvas! If you are not familiar with this weekly feature: our very talented friend, BB Sketch, picks three sneaker stories from the week to recap with his fantastic illustrations. If you missed last week’s recap you can check it out here. This week was a good one, so let’s get right into it.
Yeezy Season, Need I say more?
The force is strong with Yeezy and the new all black 750 had everyone talking all week leading up to yesterday’s release. adidas handled the release very well considering the frenzy that came with releasing this second Yeezy 750 Boost colorway. They will not let off the gas just yet either, as the adidas Yeezy 350 Oxford Tan is set to release this month too!
Also released this week was Nike’s Class of ’97 pack! This pack celebrated the 1997 incoming NBA rookies, most specifically Ray Allen. The pack included two sneakers Ray wore in Spike Lee’s 1998 film, He Got Game. The pack consists of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro and the Nike Zoom Flight Hawk, both of these shoes were worn by Jesus Shuttlesworth (played by Ray Allen) in the film.
The Trapstar x Puma Disc Blaze is a collaboration between Puma and the London based streetwear brand, Trapstar. The popular silhouette balances style with the label’s aesthetic ethos perfectly. The pair dropped yesterday, featuring premium materials: soft leather utilized for its base, while suede overlays adorn toe cap and caging on the side panels.
What was your favorite release of the week? Did you pick up any of these three? If so please share a photo of them with us on either Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #KicksOnCanvas and we will be sure to RT and repost a few! Also be sure to check out BB Sketch on Instagram to see more of his awesome artwork.
See you next Sunday for another edition of #KicksOnCanvas.
