Pusha T’s had a strong run this week. VA’s favorite former dope peddler moved his way into the president position at G.O.O.D. Music and made his first order of business to put the promo wheels in motion for the release of his long-awaited LP, King Push, led by the first single, “Untouchable,” on Thursday. To cap it all off, adidas Originals set up a release event in NYC Thursday evening for their new collaboration, the ‘Black Market’ EQT Running Guidance ‘93 that doubled as an album listening session where the host previewed a handful of tracks for those in attendance.
The kicks are a follow-up to the off-white, fish scale colorway that released last year. Conceptually, the ‘Black Market’ version draws its inspiration from the “underbelly of street culture in NYC tied to the hustling past of Pusha T.” Yeah, that’s manufactured marketing talk but it doesn’t take anything away from the final product. The old school runner adored by aficionados comes doused in black with tonal reflective three stripes, a fish scale heel counter, and cracked Italian leather to add a little luxury to the look. The ‘Black Market’ EQT Running Guidance ‘93 releases on Black Friday, naturally, at adidas.com/Originals and select retailers for a retail price of $200.
