Welcome back to the newest edition of our Kicks On Canvas series, in which we team up with the uber-talented BB Sketch to illustrate some of the week’s big releases. Kicks On Canvas drops every Sunday afternoon, if you missed last week’s check it out here. In the description of each illustration we will link to other pieces about the particular sneaker in case you need to get caught up!
This Week Was Won by the Yeezy 350 Moonrock.
Anytime Kanye West drops a sneaker (or a boot for that matter) it is guaranteed to make some big noise online. This week’s Yeezy 350 Moonrock release was no exception. The sneaker world was buzzing through the week leading up to the release and even more so after. Whether you love the sneaker or hate it, got it or missed it, rocked it or sold it… you were talking about it.
The Lebron 13 “Horror Flick” dropped to minimal fanfare. This is largely due to the LeBron 13 having a very unique look that just isn’t well suited for off-court wear. Still, this theme was well executed and reminded us of a time, not very long ago, when sneakerheads went ape-shit for holiday themed signature releases. Did anyone pick these up? Let us know in the comments below!
Dubbed by most as “the best KD8 yet,” the Nike KD 8 EXT Woven dropped just yesterday. The unorthodox materials, woven upper and color palette seem to have really resonated with our readers. It is certainly a sleek look and possibly the best KD of the year so far. What do you think? Can’t go wrong with a gum bottom!
What was your favorite release of the week? Did you pick up any of these three? If so please share a photo of them with us on either Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #KicksOnCanvas and we will be sure to RT and repost a few! Also be sure to check out BB Sketch on Instagram to see more of his awesome artwork.
See you next Sunday for another edition of #KicksOnCanvas.
