Right on time for Veterans Day, adidas has come out with their latest adidas Football Dark Ops Cleat collection consisting of the adidas 2016 adizero 5-Star 5.0 x KEVLAR® and the adidas 2016 Freak x KEVLAR®. Paying tribute to the U.S. military, the cleats are inspired by the footwear and accessories worn by the elite forces of the U.S. miltary.
The 2016 adizero 5-Star 5.0 is done up in a flexible canvas similar to the one you see in military accessories and footwear. The cleat has embroidered stripes that pay tribute to the insignia found on the elite forces uniforms. The 5-STAR FRAME which features a plate reinforced with KEVLAR® is the optimum blend of lightweight, strength and traction. The 2016 Freak x KEVLAR® is also made out of the same canvas material. The look of the cleat is inspired by the gear-carrying vests that are worn by the elite forces in the U.S. military. The lockweb midfoot features a tunable lacing system that tailors the fit and performance of the cleat. Embroidered stripes pay tribute to the insignia found on military uniforms, and stitching reinforced with KEVLAR® provides durability and strength. Great looking cleats that pay homage to the U.S. military. The use of KEVLAR is dope as well, which gives the cleat more of a genuine look and feel. I can dig it.
