Happy Moon Day, all! It might not be something you really celebrate, but man”s first step on the moon is something to cheer about. After all, it wasn’t just the first step on the moon, it was the first step that propelled our search into the unknown that we call space. And so, we’re taking a look at the best duo between planets and kicks (and yes, we are counting Pluto as a planet). Not to mention what kicks look nice for your moonlight lit walks and walks on the beach with some good ol’ vitamin D.
The Dark Side of the Moon
To kick off Moon Day, why not start with the Moon? The Yin to the Sun’s Yang, the Moon symbolizes time, emotion, intuition, illumination and influence. That in itself has a lot for us to respect. Crazy thing is, the moon is reliant on the sun to bring us any light, kind of like our 3M reflective kicks we can’t seem to stop wearing…
Get Your Head Together, Sun
Shield your eyes, it’s gonna get bright. The sun is symbolic of the mind and energy, two things you’ll find valuable once you cop the Internationalist. You’ll be in the right mind if you cop, but you’ll have to have the energy to keep up with the complements.
Back In Time With Mercury
When Mercury is in retrograde, you’ve got to be fully equipped. It’s no joke; laugh at astrology all you want but when plans start go haywire? It’s Mercury to blame. The only thing that keeps us going when that happens, is rocking kicks that keep us on top in the game.
Don’t Come In Second, Like Venus
Venus is a little more tricky. Grey and Yellow is a good mix for a planet, but a little more difficult to pull off when it comes to sneakers. Luckily for us, we’ve got Nike holding us down with Lebrons along the way.
Where Do You Stand On Planet Earth
Earth might be 71% water, but 29% is still solid ground that we walk on, so these Vans will be contributing to that. Our feet deserve special treatment, we shouldn’t deny them of that right. Just note that when you’re walking around in Sk8-Hi‘s, your feet might get a little weary so grab some insoles.
Girls Go To Mars To Get More Candy Bars
Who couldn’t see this one coming? When we’ve got a planet that’s all Red, then we’ve got to go for something that is even louder. And the only option to turn to at that point is the Nike Air Yeezy “Red October”. It’s a match made in heaven.
Boys Go To Jupiter?
Not to sound shady, but Jupiter is one of the more boring looking planets out there. So when paired with kicks, you’re going to get something with a little less pop and flare. But that doesn’t mean these aren’t cool or anything…
Don’t Get Iced Out By Saturn’s Rings
Saturn is better than the rest, just for its rings alone. The one color that always pops out is Orange, just as it does in these Internationalists. It’s the second largest planet in the solar system, so you’ve got to be sure to wear something that makes you feel larger than life.
Say Hello To Your Uranus
It’s a pretty big planet, yes, but the color keeps it looking a little more tame and quiet than it has to be. You’ve got two choices: match it, or pass it. You can rock something like these Ventilators, or you can step it up and make sure you’re stepping onto Uranus with nothing but pure heat.
Durant’s On Neptune
In Roman mythology, Neptune was the God of the Sea, but don’t go thinking that if you slide these KDs on that you’ll be the new ruler. Neptune is an Ice Giant you just can’t take down. Aside from being such a dynamic force, the Neptune trident symbol helps stabilize chaotic energies–something you should always hope to do with your shoe game.
Pluto Is Tiny, But Fierce
We almost lost Pluto there for a minute…This Vans Authentic resembles the color of Pluto–the Roman name of Hades, god of the underworld. So if you’re looking to raise hell? You’ve got to start with these kicks. ‘Cause Pluto will already be on your side. As for that new planet in town? It can kick space rocks, cuz we out.
