With the launch of NBA 2K14 fast approaching (October 1 in North America if you didn’t know), the anticipation has not been this high since some guy named Michael Jordan was named the cover athlete for the game a few years ago. Now LeBron James looks to take on the responsibility of carrying the biggest and best basketball video game franchise (sorry, Kyrie) into the future which includes the next generation of consoles.
With the next gen comes better graphics and improved gameplay, but until we see 2K14 running on a real Playstation 4 and Xbox One (pre-alpha E3 stuff doesn’t count), we will to settle for the current gen which still holds up nicely after they released the trailer a few days ago.
Eagle-eyed sneakerheads were more than happy to point out the kicks that they saw in that trailer ranging from the Nike LeBron 10 (which means LeBron’s legacy kicks will be coming back along with the upcoming Nike LeBron 11) to the Air Jordan 13 (which means that Jordan will be a part of the game in some form). But there was still a lot that has yet to be revealed. Will the entire Jordan retro line come back? Will other brands like adidas and Reebok have a bigger presence? Will NIKEiD still be around?
As we head into the final stretch of pre-release hype, chances are we will get our answer to all of these questions and more, but for now here are our picks for kicks that have never been featured – or have been gone for a while – in the series that we hope will make an appearance in NBA 2K14.

10. FILA GH2 96
Now that Grant Hill is retired from the NBA (sad face), he could still be a part of the game as a Legend, which would be awesome because finally kids get to play as Hill with the stats and ratings he had when he was in his prime. The only way to get that right is feature him in those classic Pistons jerseys (no, not those teal abominations) with the FILA GH2 96.
